Claire was 10 months on the 29th of October. She has 8 teeth. 4 on the top and 4 on the bottom. Claire is very active. She pulls herself up to everything. I don't think it will be to long and she will be walking. Claire is a very happy baby. She enjoys playing with her big brother! As you can see, Claire was a cute lion for Halloween.Clayton wanted to be a Hawkeye Football Player like Uncle Mark for Halloween! He had a lot of fun going door to door saying "Trick-or Treat!" We managed to get to Goose Lakes trick-or treating and also to Charlottes trick-or-treating. Just recently I have been hearing him walk around the house and say "Trick or Treat, smell my feet." I am not to sure who taught him that!
On Thursday we made the trip to Iowa City. Clayton was scheduled to have his pre-op physical that afternoon. He passed with flying colors and was all set for surgery Friday morning. We spent Thursday night at the Holiday Inn in Coralville. My mom stayed with us to help out with Claire. It was fun getting to see my brother Mark. Clayton associates going to Iowa City to see Mark Jr. and the "bubble."
Friday morning came early. Clayton was the first case so we had to be at the hospital at 5:45 a.m. His surgery was scheduled for 7:15. The whole procedure took just a little over 2 hours. Dr. Shilansky was out talking with Troy and I right around 9:30. He shared with us that the mass was the size of a walnut. He had to move the muscle around a bit to get all of the mass so Clayton is quite sore. There are stitches on the inside that will dissolve on there own. He used the cool glue on the outside. The doctor was also able to cut on the same incision from before. We are very happy to have all this behind us and to have Clayton on the road to recovery. Troy and I are both very lucky and thankful for our 2 healthy, beautiful chil
dren. Spending time out in Iowa City at the hospital really made us stop and think about how lucky we are to have been blessed with two healthy kids. Thanks again to everyone who has called, stopped by, or given Clayton a gift. We really appreciate everything !! :)

So thankful to hear everything is OK!! The Halloween pictures are really cute too. :)
What Mindy said, and... I think I remember being a Hawkeye football player like Uncle Mark for Holloween.
So glad to hear how well Clayton is doing after surgery - so much for which to be thankful!
Love, Aunt Sandy
